9 Months to Crochet

I’m excited to be able to share insights with you today about a new books with #CreativeGoodness from Martingale.

The New Year is always fun, but even more exciting when you are looking forward to the arrival of a new baby.  On the other hand, it is even fun when one has already arrived.  Babies just make life so much fun.  Of course, it is also fun to make things for babies too!

I’m excited to be able to share insights with you today about a fun new book from Martingale, which has some wonderful projects you can make for babies.

“9 Months to Crochet – Count Down to the Big Day with Crochet! – 25 Projects to Make While You Wait”, by Maaike Van Koert,  is definitely a book filled with #CreativeGoodness and fun projects for babies, as well as the excitement about the arrival of a new baby.

About the Author:

Maaike von Koert is a talented crochet designer and author who runs creJJtion.com, a popular website for crochet enthusiasts. Maaike grew up in the Netherlands, lived for a while in Canada, and then returned to the Netherlands where she lives with her husband, daughter, and Floyd the chocolate Labrador.

MY PERSPECTIVE:

This book is packed with absolutely adorable items to crochet for a new baby to wear, cuddle with, as well as to decorate their room.  All of the patterns come with easy to follow instructions and great visuals, making this book perfect for a beginner, as well as those with expertise with crochet work.  I hope you can see with I feel this book is such an exceptional value with 25 wonderful projects.  I do hope you get a chance to check it out at your local quilt or sewing center, but don’t forget if you don’t see it, to let them know you’d like them to carry it.  It is such a new book they might not be aware of it.  Of course you can also check it out online at Martingale, as well as Amazon.

For those that may not have a baby on the way, or a recent arrival, don’t overlook the fun you can have with this book to make handmade gifts for some future baby.  There are so many babies born every year, whose families would love such a handmade gift.  They also make great items to go into baby themed gift baskets for silent auction fundraisers.  But one of my most favorite and common reasons to make baby gifts is for Operation Homefront.

Operation Homefront is a non-profit program that focuses on helping Military families and Wounded Warriors with financial assistance, food assistance, repairs and so much more.  And, they also host several group baby showers for soon to be mothers, often living away from family and friends, while their husband is deployed and they are having a baby.  If you are not familiar with this program, click thru to find out more info.  I also hope you’ll contact your nearest office and let them know you are interested in making handmade baby items for them to give to these soon to be mothers, or find out other ways you can help these families.

As there are also many ways to help others, I’m also hoping that if you have a favorite way where someone can make a cute baby item and donate to a good cause, that you’ll share by way of leaving a comment below.  Of course, if you have a baby on the way, or a recent arrival, I’d love to hear about that too!
