Policies and Disclosures

This website (QuiltShopGal) captures some personal information from visitors and followers,. I am also an Affiliate with a select group of online businesses, whereby if you click a link from my site and make a purchase, I “may” receive a small fee back, but the price you pay is the same as if you went directly to that site. Funds that I may receive are used to supplement my expenses for shipping prizes. This post is provided to share my policies and my Full Disclosure for such topics.

I value privacy and honesty, as welll as full disclosure.  I have never, nor will I ever sell or give your personal information to anyone, without your permission.  In fact, the only way I can think of ever considering sharing any of your information, has been in such situations where my followers have benefited from my connections (e.g. Ambassador Programs, Product Evaluations, Sponsor Leads, etc), but I never share your information without your permission.

My policies and disclosures may be modified at any time,  but will only be done so to make them clearer, not to change my values or intent.  This page was last modified as of May 23, 2018.

General

As a blogger, I do not have any intention to capture personal information on anyone for the purposes of selling or sharing in any way. Your privacy is very important to me. As such, this page has been written to document my intentions and reflect my policies for use of your personal data, as well as disclose where I may share links to sites which “may” pay me a small fee, should you make a purchase after clicking such a link.  Such sites may also have their own policies for use of your personal data, which they may collect, as welllas cookies that they may require.

EU Personal Data:

The EU established an excellent standard for management of your personal data.  While this effects those “located” in the European Union (“EU”), United Kingdom, Lichtenstein, Norway, or Iceland, you may have additional rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the “GDPR”) with respect to your Personal Data, as outlined in the EU Privacy Notice .   As QuiltShopGal also values your privacy, I can honestly say that I wish the GDPR Protection Regulation would be adopted world-wide.  But, fortunately, many businesses and internet sites WW are stepping up and formalizing their policies and disclosures.  Thus,  while I will confess I sometimes see this is a silly concern for bloggers, I want to encourage the adoption of Privacy and Disclosure Policies by all bloggers, especially those that are also in the business (including those that may make even the smallest amount of income from their blog) to adopt such policies and disclosures.

As stated previously, this page is dedicated to sharing my policies and disclosures:

Privacy Policy:

Personal data may be captured by way of your email address, your name, etc., when you sign up to receive copies of blog posts via email, or when you sign up to enter a giveaway which I host.  I do not sell or use your personal information in other way, than by which you authorize (e.g. for email updates for blog posts, or notification if you win a prize and share an address for where the prize should be shipped to).

Cookie Policy:

Directly, I do not use cookies (well, in all honesty, I do eat cookies).  With respect to core blogging practices there are no cookies to be worried about when you visit my blog.  But, as you read my “Full Disclosure”, I want you to be aware of where you may click thru a link on my site, to get to another site, which may require a cookie.

Cookies consist of portions of code installed in the browser that assist the Owner in providing the Service according to the purposes described. Some of the purposes for which Cookies are installed may also require the User’s consent.

Where the installation of Cookies is based on consent, such consent can be freely withdrawn at any time following the instructions provided in this document.

Through browser preferences, it is also possible to delete Cookies installed in the past, including the Cookies that may have saved the initial consent for the installation of Cookies by this website.

Copyright:

All written and photographic content on QuiltShopGal  (with the exception of content directly from the publisher or author) is property of QuiltShopGal and may not be copied or reproduced in any fashion.  The exception, is that you can share links to my blog and/or blog posts.

Full Disclosure:

I am an Affiliate with a select group of online businesses, which means I “may” earn a fee if you click a link from my site and make a purchase on their site. While your price remains the same as if you went directly to their site, when I do receive such fees I use them to supplement postage expenses to ship prizes.  I will never be an affiliate to a business I don’t personally support, nor will I ever recommend a product or service to something which I do not personally  use.  I am not an Affiliate for personal gain, but simply for the goal of being able to help fund the expense of hosting giveaways, or special events, where I need to ship prizes  Without the funds derived from Affiliate programs, the shipping expenses comes out of my personal quilting budget and I simply can’t afford to ship as many prizes as I have the opportunity to.  To clarify, I could host more giveaways & events with sponsored prizes, if I had more affiliate income to help with postage expenses!

I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255: “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising.”

I also want to acknowledge that while asked, I have never been paid for a review that appears on this site, nor will I ever accept such payment in the future.

Third Party Advertising:

While QuiltShopGal does not currently host any paid advertisements, nor third party ad networks, including third party ad servers, ad agencies, ad technology vendors and research firms, to serve advertisements through the Services, I retain the option to doing so in the future.  This page will be updated, if and when I decide to pursue such advertisements. But, they will also need to adhere to my criteria that I personally must use and recommend the products and/or sites that are associated with such advertisement.
