Finding Joy – Virtual Quilt Retreats

In this crazy year, we need to take time to find, create and share joy.

Many quilters are missing the ability to sew with friends, take in person quilting classes, as well as attend in person quilt retreats. Simply stated, we miss being able to visually interact, share, inspire and create together.

I’m delighted to share that Carole’s (From My Carolina Home) free Zoom Class Retreat, this past Saturday, December 5th, offered a wonderful sense of normalcy, fun, creativity and sewcializing. I wasn’t certain how a virtual retreat would work, especially with participants from various timezones, but it was a wonderful quilt retreat and I do believe all participants found joy in sharing, listening, encouraging and quilting together. Carole did an excellent job hosting this fun event where participants (~8) were able to join anytime and stay as long as they wanted. The event was scheduled from 10am to 4pm Eastern time.

QuiltShopGal highly recommends you sign up for a future virtual Zoom Class Retreat with Carole, especially if you are missing the “joy” of quilting with others. I understand that another free Zoom Class Retreat which is scheduled this Thursday , December 10th has a few open spaces. You can sign up to attend by clicking HERE.

Carole is also working on scheduling more quilting & class retreats for 2021. While you can check your online Zoom Class/Retreat Schedule, for more info, you may also want to contact her if you’d like to more Zoom Class Retreats scheduled in 2021, to let her know you are interested (I am). Even better follow her blog (From My Carolina Home) to hear about new zoom classes & retreats.

She is also hosting a Zoom Class which focuses on ways to use scraps from your stash, on Wednesday, December 30th at 1pm EST for a nominal $10 fee. Click HERE to sign up.

Carole also has several of her patterns for sale in PDF downloadable format. Here is a photo of her “Scrap Dance Twist” quilt design.

Carole’s patterns, including Scrap Dance Twist, are available in downloadable PDF formats and can be purchased online. For more info click here

If you do not currently have the Zoom app on your computer, or smart device, please go to https://zoom.us/ and download it from there.  It is an easy to use tool which enables you to virtually join Carole’s retreats, classes as well as use for you to connect with family & friends by way of their free or for fee accounts offered by Zoom.

We are going to get thru it, push thru to the other side. In the meantime, I hope you get a chance to find and share joy via a Zoom Quilt Retreat and/or class with Carole. You can find Carole at:

  1. Seaside has a virtual sewing day the second Tuesday. We used to meet at Sewing Machines plus. Our new President Chris runs voom and keeps us on track. Not as fun as in person, but at least we keep in touch.

  2. I’m so sorry to see you leave the blogging world! I’ve followed your blog for many years and have enjoyed it immensely. However, I know that people and things change and that we sometimes need to adapt to those changes. I wish you a very happy and healthy holiday season and the best in the future.
