Quilt Shop Hops

Quilters Resources has a very handy tool that helps you find out about quilting events in your area, or where you may be visiting.  It is also a great tool for quilt show coordinators, quilt guilds, and quilt shop hop coordinators to take advantage of to increase awareness of their events.  I think quilters world-wide need to be aware of this tool and also help to increase awareness of it.  Possibilities are endless.

For example, for those traveling to Alaska this summer, you’ll want to check out the Row by Row Experience to visit some creative shops in Alaska.

I even spotted a fun Quilt Shop Hop, in San Diego, CA, called the “Crusin Quilters” Shop Hop that has  a wonderful “Have a Notions” theme this year.  While all participating shops in this hop are fun to visit, each shop also gives every shop hop participant a free block pattern (with a sweet notions theme design), and attendees also get entered to win amazing prizes from each store they visit, as well as grand prizes, for those that visit all shops.  And, while all shop hops are fun, this will definitely be fun to see all the quilt shops participating, as well as their notions.

All the shops in participating in this event are packed with #CreativeGoodness.  And, you might be lucky when you visit Quilt in a Day, to meet the very talented Eleanor Burns!  If by chance, you are coming from out of the area there are hotels with some really good rates, you’ll even find super deals on Groupon for hotels and restaurants too!

  1. I stopped doing shop hops. In our area they were charging for the blocks and I found they were often short on fabric, so you could not even complete the block 😦
