Yesterday, I shared insights about a beautiful new fabric collection by Henry Glass & Co., where QuiltShopGal made a quilt from, using new Slit N Sew Templates from Quilter’s Paradise. Today, I want to share more insights about these super cool templates, which I used to make a 60 degree diamond quilt, where I also easily incorporated some panel blocks into the quilt.
First, I want to heighten awareness that these templates are really new and the odds are your local quilt shop isn’t even aware of them. Of course, I’m hoping everyone will tell their local shop about these templates and encourage them to make them available. And, for those attending Quilt Market or Festival, they can also check them out there.
Quilter’s Paradise will be introducing new Slit N Sew Templates at Fall Quilt Market (booth #2320) and Quilt Festival (Booth #1046). These templates support precision sewing without requiring ANY pins!
Here is some info about these new templates from the creators (Quilter’s Paradise).
- No tedious and time-consuming pinning!
- No paper piecing!
- May be performed by quilters of all skill and experience levels.
- Ideally sized to work with standard pre-cuts, such as 5″ and 10″ squares, or use with other fabric that you have.
- Easy to see fluorescent green acrylic color!
- Includes CutRiteTM HandiGrabber material to keep template securely in place.
Isn’t the Slit N Sew technique revolutionary ? No pins Folks!
Quilter’s Paradies has a variety of Slit N Sew templates, also in various sizes and they’ll be coming out with more soon.
Clamshell – 4″ & 6″
Drunkards Path 4″ & 8″
Apple Core – 4″ & 9″
45 degree Diamond – 4″ & 8″ finished
60 degree Diamond – 4 1/2″ and 9″ finished
Melon – 6″ finished
Tumbler – 3 1/2″ and 7″ finished
And, all of these template sets are very reasonably priced templates. All the templates also come with a printed instruction booklet, which you can also download in PDF format for free, anytime.
QuiltShopGal loves these templates. The fluorescent green acrylic color is easy to see and also helpful if you want to do any fussy cutting. The CutRite HandiGrabber tape, which is included in each set (you can also buy more for your other rulers & templates) is easy to apply and does an amazing job gripping the fabric, to help with precision cutting. The unique slits really are amazing in that they are so easy to cut, and how they enable perfect sewing without pinning! I honestly am looking forward to using all of the Slit N Sew templates in future projects. Possibly, the next one will be a Clamshell quilt, or a Drunkards Path quilt. What one would you like to use to create?
Wholesale orders can be placed thru EE Schenk.
