Congratulations to the Modern Quilt Guild and all the amazing volunteers for hosting another amazing show this past week – QuiltCon was a huge success and certainly enjoyed by all the lucky attendees. This show had brilliant teachers, stunning quilts, and a large selection of vendors and fabric manufacturers. Something for everyone.
Today I wanted to share some highlights that caught my attention:
The Ventura Modern Quilt Guild had a booth that was focused on increasing awareness of an amazing charity project “Thomas Fire Quilts”, where they have a goal of providing 700+ handmade quilts to victims of the largest fire in California’s history. I was touched to see many drop off quilts, as well as blocks, at their booth. Of course, many more are needed to help them reach their goal for such a great cause. Click here if you want to learn more about this call for quilts.
Hoffman California International Fabrics had a very inviting booth showcasing their beautiful Me + You line of fabrics. It was easy to fall in love with a new pre-cut bundle of these fabrics, which contained 1 yard cuts of all the fabrics in this line. Unfortunately, this amazing pre-cut bundle is not yet available in any quilt shop. But, I can only hope if enough of us ask our quilt shops to carry it, it might happen. Certainly a dream pre-cut bundle of beautiful fabrics.
note: In the lower left corner are two rolls of “pre-cut” bundles comprised of 1 yard cuts of every fabric in the Me + You collection. Who wants such a bundle (I do)?
Sizzix had an inviting booth with plenty of eye candy, from beautiful quilts, softies, bags , pillows, and more. Of course, I loved all the stunning quilts designed by Victoria Findlay Wolfe who is also a Designer for Sizzix.
And I love their new whale die to make these sweet whale stuffies.
Soon, I’ll share photos of quilts that caught my attention, as well as freemotion quilting. But for now, here are a few FMQ teasers:
I also want to encourage everyone to click thru to the QuiltCon website, to view the winners of QuiltCon 2018.
Don’t forget to check back, as I’ll be sharing more insights on the beautiful quilts, freemotion quilting and more about QuiltCon 2018 soon.
