Have you heard about the latest book by Christa Watson – “Piece and Quilt with Precuts: 11 Quilts, 18 Machine-Quilting Designs, Start-to-Finish Success!“, published by Martingale? Of all the books for working with precuts, which I’ve ever seen, this one has the most amazing quilts, perfect for quilters of all levels, as well as those that are interested with quilts with a Modern style!
Clearly, this book is packed with #CreativeGoodness. And, I want to share insights with you today about this book, as well as give a shout out for those attending QuiltCon West this week to have an opportunity to meet Christa in person.
Learn easy, efficient tricks for piecing irresistible quilt tops with precuts and leftover fabric scraps, and discover 18 machine-quilting motifs you can mix and match. Award-winning quilter and designer Christa Watson guides you through 11 skill-building projects with quilting designs in three categories: walking-foot, free-motion, and a combination of the two techniques. Christa is here to help you start and finish strong!
Christa Watson is an award-winning quilter, a Bernina Ambassador, an EQ artist, and the author of numerous books, articles, and patterns on piecing and machine quilting. She travels worldwide, encouraging others to experience the joy of machine quilting on a home sewing machine. She loves living in fabulous Las Vegas where she enjoys being a wife to her husband and a mom to her three children, who all think it’s normal to have a house full of fabric.
There are huge benefits of working with pre-cuts (e.g. fabric bundle contains coordinated fabrics, easier preparation, and minimal excess fabric). While books have been previously published for pre-cuts, few exist for those interested in Modern quilt designs. Plus, this book stands out with creative designs that are just fun and interesting.
Christa shares 11 beautiful patterns, as well as 18 quilting designs, all with a fresh and modern design. This book is also packed with tips for quilters of all levels, and each pattern has easy to follow instructions with great visuals.
When you consider the cost of a standalone pattern, this book is an exceptional value. I also think it is an excellent book for a quilt guild, a quilt shop, or even a friendship group, to plan out challenges and/or quilt-alongs, based on designs & tips included in this book. After all, many guilds and shops are looking for ways to draw in customers so what a perfect way to do such by way of pre-cuts and modern quilts?
I hope you get a chance to check out this book at your favorite quilt shop, but if you don’t see it, as always, let them know you are interested in having them carry it. This book is still so new, they simply may not be aware of it, on the other hand they could already have sold out! You can also check out this book online at Martingale, or Amazon, or purchase a sign copy from Christa’s online store.
And, for those attending QuiltCon West this week, you can find Christa as follows:
