Road to California Quilt Conference and Show 2016 – Part 3 – Marketplace – Hoffman California Fabrics and a Giveaway

Road to California has come up with a way for guests at the show to meet and ask questions directly with top manufacturers in the quilting industry.  It also gives the wholesales a chance to meet their buying public face-to-face, share their techniques, and introduce with is up and coming in their product line.  “Market Place” is a special event that is open throughout the show.

One of the businesses at Market Place this year, was Hoffman California Fabrics.

Hoffman had a very inviting booth with gorgeous quilts all showing off new fabrics and designs.

Did you know you can view their latest fabrics via their online catalog?  This is a great way to plan projects.  Of course, if you don’t find these fabrics in your favorite quilt shop, let them know you are interested in having them available in their shop.

I thoroughly enjoyed seeing their new fabrics and kits, of which I want to share a few highlights with you today:

New “Sew into It” kits, which include fabric and pattern,to make a completed project.  This new kit comes as a complete kit to make a beautiful quilt, but the approach is to join others and stitch this out as a BOM program.  Be sure to talk with your favorite quilt shop to see if they will be offering this as a stand alone kit for sale, or by way of a BOM program.  I will keep everyone posted if this kit will also be offered as a virtual BOM, which would also be great fun.

Hoffman is helping to celebrate the Centennial of the US National Parks, with the introduction of a new fabric line of handpainted watercolor artwork by their Senior Textile Artist Hue Nguyen.

The new Hoffman Challenge 2016 is co-sponsored with Aurifil, who has also donated some amazing thread bundles for prizes, in addition to the normal cash prizes. Focal fabrics are digitally printed gorgeous prints. And they also have a new challenge category “Home Decor”, with a kitchen theme for the 2016 challenge (e.g. think table toppers, and anything you could create with these fabrics for your kitchen).  For more info on the 2016 Hoffman Challenge:

Hoffman has released new Bali Batiks and Bali Watercolors for the 2016 Row by Row experience.  And, there is a fun and whimsical ROW pattern, designed by Jamie Fingal, the Rebel Quilter and Hoffman signature textile artist.  Shops that order these fabrics will also be giving complimentary row patterns, to provide customers, so be sure to let your favorite quilt shops know you’d like them to carry these new Hoffman fabrics, as well as participate in the Row by row event.

They have many  new free patterns available on their website.  One of my favorites is Wish you were here in Rome, by Wendy Sheppard

Thanks to Hoffman, I have six bundles of 5″ charm packs, of new Hoffman fabrics, all from their Winter 2016 collections, to giveaway to my followers:

One each of these fabric charm packs, will each go to six lucky winners.

To enter, followers can use the Rafflecopter Form below where you can claim one or more entries, keeping in mind it really only takes one entry to win, but as there are those that like to increase their odds, I’ve included a variety of options to enter.

I also want to recognize and thank Elizabeth (Libby) Hemming and Pat E, as  Postage Angels.  They  donated money to help supplement postage expenses for prizes that QuiltShopGal needs to  ship directly to winners in 2016.  Postage Angels are still eligible to enter any giveaway/contest hosted by QuiltShopGal and have the same odds of randomly being selected to win, as non-Postage Angel participants.

do want to clarify, as announced earlier this year, due to continuing postage rate increases, International winners will not receive free shipping in 2016.  If they wish to enter a giveaway and claim their prize they will need to donate $20 US, as a Postage Angel.  If actual postage is greater QuiltShopGal will pay the difference and if it is less, the extra funds are placed in a postage expense account, to help supplement expenses for future shipping of prizes.   Sadly, the US Post Office just raised rates 5% AGAIN this week.
