Taking An End Of Year Break To Catch Up, Organize and Plan

Are you amazed how fast this year has gone?  I certainly am.

I need to take a break from blogging, for a few days, to complete some 2015 commitments (e.g. shipping prizes from the 2015 Free-Motion Quilting Challenge, #NightsBefore Christmas Party, and regular giveaways), as well as make plans for 2016.

In the meantime, I wanted to share some insights with you:

There is still time to learn/improve your free-motion quilting (FMQ) skills this year, as well as win monthly and/or Grand Prizes.  Check out the December challenge, which showcases Wendy Sheppard (Ivory Spring).

AURIFIL has been a very generous sponsor of our 2015 Free-Motion Quilting Challenge.  They donated a yummy collection of thread which was awarded to Bente of I Like to Quilt, as a monthly prize for the January Challenge.  Complete one or more options in the December challenge and you not only get entered to win a monthly prize, but you are also automatically entered to win a Grand Prize (every monthly entry automatically enters participants to win a Grand Prize).

One very lucky Grand Prize winner will receive an Aurifil collection of 48 large spools of cotton thread. This prize has a retail value over $400.

Participants in events hosted by QuiltShopGal (e.g. FMQ Challenges, #CreativeGoodness Linky Parties, #NightsBeforeChristmas Parties) can be bloggers or non-bloggers, but bloggers also get free PR by being added to my blog follow widget displayed on My Creative Blog List, which is focused on promoting various blogging events.  I hope you’ll click thru and check it out, as it is an easy to use tool to follow creative blogs: http://mycreativebloglist.blogspot.com/

I’m also working on a badge for this blog and I’ll be doing a refresh of the blog list for 2016.

Looking for an easy tool to find out where good sales are for quilting, sewing and embroidery enthusiasts?  Fingertip Shopping was created to increase awareness of steals and deals and posts are only shared with such opportunities arise (not daily blog posts).  Check out:  http://fingertipshopping.blogspot.com/

Funds for postage come out of my personal quilting budget.  I try to supplement these expenses by being an Affiliate for companies and products that I personal use and respect.  Those that click thru links on my blogs, to make a purchase, pay the same as if you had gone to their sites directly, but in some cases I receive a small fee back and those funds are used to supplement shipping expenses for those that win giveaways or prizes from events I host.

If you are shoppping at ACCUQUILT, AMAZON, or CRAFTSY  I hope you’ll remember to use links from one of my blogs, to make your purchase.

I’ll be back sharing more insights in the New Year.  In the meantime, I wish you a very Happy and Healthy New Year.
