Marian of Seams to be Sew is hosting another fun blog hop. This event has the theme of “Christmas Is in My Heart” and it kicks off today. You’ll find oodles of fun, creativity, inspiration, recipes, freebies and giveaways along the way. And, I’m thrilled to be one of the stops in the kick off today.
What comes to mind when you think of Christmas Is In Your Heart?
For me, “Christmas in my Heart” is a value that I hold near and dear. While I don’t criticize the commercial side of this holiday, I personally try to not get caught up in it. In all honesty, the best gift is priceless…it is gifts from the heart. They can come by way of a gift of time, the gift of thoughtfulness, the gift of love and friendship. It may be a phone call, an email, a card, getting together over coffee or for lunch with friends, or even a walk. We all lead busy lives, so when someone reaches out during the holidays to share they are thinking of you I treat that as a gift from the heart.
I’ll confess that as someone who enjoys quilting and many other forms of creativity, I do love giving and receiving handmade gifts. They are never expected, but they are gifts from the heart.
But as there are so many ways to capture Christmas in Your Heart that it is impossible to share them all. So, I thought I’d share a few inspirational stories from blogging friends, which for me, depict Christmas Is In Your Heart. I also hope this may introduce you to some blogs filled with #CreativeGoodness and you’ll take time to check them out.
Dana of Stormy Days is a very creative quilter who designs many of her quilts (I hope she’ll one day begin to sell her designs), but she is also very active in helping stray animals, those living in shelters, children and families in need, and just about anyone or any animal that could use a helping hand. For those that follow her blog, it is easy to see she an “Angel on Earth” and truly carries Christmas in her heart, as she is always out there to help those in need throughout the year, but especially at Christmas. As such, Dana has unconsciously reminded me and grounded me on holding Christmas in My Hart.
Cindy C of SewCindy, is also an amazing quilter and creative person. You may remember her from her blog SewCindy. But while she is no longer blogging, she does share her creativity now via instagram: //platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.jshttps://instagram.com/sewcindy/ and you can also follower her on Pinterest: https://www.pinterest.com/socindy/ Cindy is someone who definitely carries Christmas in her Heart throughout the year. Years ago, Cindy inspired me for how ready she always was to give handmade gifts at Christmas. She starts early in the year making handmade items for Christmas gifts and keeps a special box, which she adds items to throughout the year. Again, there are so many wonderful quilters and creative people that carry Christmas in their Heart and have inspired me. And, I’ve enjoyed meeting many of these individuals that are bloggers or blog followers and honestly feel blessed for how they have influenced me through creativity and friendship. Truly that is the best gift I could ever receive for Christmas. I wish I could recognize all of them. But, I’m hopeful you’ll leave a comment and share what inspires you to carry Christmas in your Heart?

I’m also hosting a giveaway where you could win a bundle of pre-cut fabric hearts, die cut, with Christmas fabrics. There are actually 75 pre-cut hearts, in three different sizes, in this collection, all cut with various Christmas fabrics. These cuts could be used on a quilt, wallhanging, table runner, stocking, placemats, etc…the possibilities are endless. And, I will ship them to anyone world wide.
The envelope will be a regular size envelope. Due to computer problems (my computer was in the shop the last 48 hours) I do not have a photo I can upload at this time, but this post will be updated to show these heart pre-cuts with Christmas fabrics.
To enter to win, simply leave a comment on this post and let me know what you might like to create with pre-cut hearts of Christmas fabrics. I will randomly select one winner, at the end of this blog hop and update this post about November 20th to announce the winner. I’ll also send an email to the winner to notify them. While Christmas is still about six weeks away, I hope you enjoy the holiday season. Don’t forget you can hold Christmas in your Heart and not get caught up in the commercialism of the season. Just have fun enjoying “time” with family and friends, make calls to let them know you are thinking of them during the holidays, and when you can, make a handmade gift. //widget-prime.rafflecopter.com/launch.js
